Planning to upgrade from my 4570 to 4790. Currently using MSI H97 gaming 3. Would I need to update BIOs in order to run the new processor or it will run fine on stock?

Lastly can someone link me to guide on how to install new cpu on mobo?

Thanks!

With the exception of the 4790K and a few other CPU's the first bios released with that motherboard will support most CPU's including the standard 4790, 4790T, and 4790S. If you are getting the 4790K then you will need at least BIOS version 1.1.

Just as a side note there is no real reason to upgrade unless you are going use it for media purposes or other programs that take advantage of the extra 4 Threaded cores or you are getting the K version for overclocking.

Wait for Broadwell, the 4570 is still a very strong CPU and shouldn't cause bottlenecks anytime in the near future.
