So, after about a month of having the computer, ocasionally, I will hear a abnormal (Not usual) buzzing like sound (Kinda like a fan rev, but I'm guessing its my hard disk drive) and then my MonoDevelop (IDE) stops reasponding for a second or two, then went back to normal? Is this a regualr sign? Or is my hard drive about to fail?

PS: I never noticed this the first month of running this build.

Solution
My guess would be you probably have two hard drives (or SSD + HDD). Windows power save is spinning down the HDD to save energy and wear and tear.

Your IDE needs some data on the spun down HDD, so it powers back up. That is the fan revving up sound. The IDE can't do anything until it gets that data, so it is waiting for the drive to get up to full speed and read the data. That's why it freezes.

If it really annoys you, you can go into Windows' power management settings and increase the amount of time before the HDD will spin down. Or turn the feature entirely off. Be warned though that certain "green" drives ignore Windows' setting and will spin down on their own. You'll need to google for tools which change the spin down time...

I am going to do that ASAP. But wouldn't a hard disk that is revving up or something make noise? is that a possibility?
