I have an hp pavilion p6404y with an nvidia gtx 560 I added to it and it has been running well for a few years, however when I turned on my computer this morning instead of the normal blue bios I get a weird black screen that says ami bios and then GRUB loads like usual. When I boot into windows the splash screen looks like the old vista one even though I have windows 7, and the resolution is really tiny. I can't change the screen resolution any higher and nvidia control panel can't either. At first I thought it was just a windows problem so I rebooted into my LXLE partition and it is having the same exact problem (I have the nvidia proprietary drivers installed). Considering the unusual bios splash screen I thought it might have been the CMOS battery so I changed the boot order in my bios as a test, but the changes I made persisted over a reboot so I don't think it's the battery. After that I opened my case to see if my graphics card was working properly but it looks like it is. I'm not sure what more to do to troubleshoot it/fix it. Do you guys have any ideas? Thanks for reading the long post and taking the time to reply!
