This is how I would setup an X99 system with the budget you have. After the main pieces I have an explanation why I picked it.

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3n2QK8
Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3n2QK8/by_merchant/

CPU: Intel Core i7-5930K 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($579.99 @ TigerDirect) <-- For the money, it is the better CPU, but these CPUs are still pricey.

CPU Cooler: Swiftech H220 55.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($100.00 @ NCIX US) <-- One of if not the best closed loop cooler under $100.00 on the market, to get better you need to spend about $200.00

Motherboard: ASRock X99 Extreme4 ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard ($240.99 @ Newegg) <-- good boards, butreally untested at this point when it comes to X99

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($279.99 @ Newegg) <-- Great RAM

Storage: Samsung 850 Pro Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($119.00 @ Amazon) <-- only for your OS, drivers, and monitoring software.

Storage: Samsung 850 Pro Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($119.00 @ Amazon) <-- Only to load all your programs

Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($78.23 @ OutletPC) <-- All DATA saves

Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 290X 4GB DirectCU II Video Card ($562.98 @ SuperBiiz) <-- $$ for $$ this is the best vid card on the market… That is until next week when the Asus r295x2 gets slashed by $500.00 for a very limited time maybe 1 week. The card will still cost $1000.00 but $$ per capability it will be the best thing on the market.

Case: Cooler Master 690 III ATX Mid Tower Case ($99.99 @ NCIX US) <-- OK case I prefer full towers so you have more room to grow, but due to budget kept this.

Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000G2 1000W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($156.81 @ Newegg) <-- Great power supplies

Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($16.99 @ Newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($87.99 @ Newegg)

Monitor: Asus PB278Q 27.0" Monitor ($469.99 @ Amazon) <-- $$ for $$ this is the best monitor you can get for clarity, color and quality. You simply cannot beat this monitor, is does everything very, very well. I run 3 27" monitors and really wish i'd picked this one at first before I got my Dell U2713HMT...

Keyboard: Thermaltake POSEIDON Z Wired Gaming Keyboard ($69.99 @ Amazon)
Mouse: Corsair Vengeance M65 Wired Laser Mouse ($53.99 @ Amazon)

Total: $3035.93
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

2nd ^ except instead of asus pb278q get qnix or xstar monitor. They use the same pls panel, they are overclocking, and are $180 less. They don't come with a very good stand, osd, or multiple inputs (you have to use dual link dvi) but picture quality is the same.

Do you happen to have the model numbers of the monitors? I am curious about the color rendition if it is near the same.

I am building another rig for someone and if they are close I may take a look at the cause for $180 less it's worth a look. and I'll be running 3 of these for her.

^ This is the pixel perfect version qnix. I got my xstar which is basically the same exact model without pixel perfect guarantee and i didn't have any dead pixels. From reading forums people rarely get dead pixels when buying from Dreamseller on ebay.

Xstar link:

Here's a link to Tek Synidcates review of the xstar:

Trust me they are simply incredible monitors

I will admit that the monitors you picked are very nice but there are some differences with the color rendition. For gaming the monitors may be great, but when it comes to accurate media work, they can be a bit off.

I like the prices don't get me wrong and I wish the Color Gamut was what I was looking for, but it is not.

They are OK monitors, but not the quality I like to see. Stick with the Asus IMO, but very nice monitors.
