Switching from a pirated version of Windows 7 to a genuine version.. messed up my computer

I built a computer specifically for gaming, and since I wasn't any good with software, I had my friend install Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on my computer. He used a pirated version, which caused some pop-ups every now and again, but didn't cause any real troubles, so I didn't really mind it.

But now I've moved into my college dorm where they sell Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit for $16, so I bought it and updated my computer to have genuine windows. It made a file called "Windows.old," so I figured it worked, but I realized I couldn't connect to the internet.

It then said I didn't have any network adapter drives, which I thought was weird. I tried using a USB stick and using the "Windows.old" folder to try and get drives so I can at least have internet access, but nothing's worked so far. I tried seeing if I could get rid of the genuine version of windows to see if I could go back to the pirated version, but it won't let me either (Big surprise.. but I had to try).

I feel like I screwed up my computer pretty badly. All of my old files are in "Windows.old" but they don't seem to work. I have nothing on my "updated with genuine windows" computer besides a Recycle Bin apparently. Is there any way that I could fix this?

go to control panel>device manager and scroll down to your ethernet adapter.it will tell you what kind of controller you have.then, with another computer,go to your controllers vendors site and download the driver to a usb and install it to your computer.

Exact details of my ethernet controller:

Device Type: Other devices

Manufacturer: Unknown

Device status:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.

To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver. (Which I do, and I get "Windows was unable to install your Ethernet Controller")

Do you still have the drivers disc that came with the motherboard? If yes, that is the first place you can look for the necessary drivers. If not, and this will require the use of another computer, go the board manufacturer's site and look for the drivers for that board.

My computer parts are included in the first post. My motherboard is also included.

I am currently downloading drivers for my Gigabyte motherboard, and I'm going to see how it works.

EDIT*
I don't know which drivers to really get, as I've tried seeing if I could get ethernet adapters, but it keeps saying I don't have the drivers to do so.

I downloaded the ethernet driver to a usb and installed it on my computer, but it continues to tell me that I have no internet connection and that I have no drivers for my network adapter.
