Dear all

I have the following setup: I connect my set-top box via an a/v-receiver to my tv. I use a long older HDMI cable which has v1.3 printed on it. Everything works fine.

Because I changed the location of my gear I don't need that long a cable anymore, so I bought a much shorter new one (HDMI high speed a.k.a. v1.4). Using this new cable I do not have any picture (audio works alright, though). I tried three different cables (different lengths, different models) and do not get any better results.

What could be the problem?

Thank you for any advices.

My old cable works perfectly. I just want to use a shorter one and can't seem to find any that is working with my equipment.

I guess you have a hdmi cable from the set top box to the AV receiver and then another from the AV receiver to the TV. Which of these cables are you replacing?

Audio is presumably from the AV receiver, so if video isn't working it seems likely that the connection from the AV receiver to the TV isn't connecting at all. Are you using the same input on the TV as before?
