where to get a booting media device

My acer aspire laptop e1-522 ,when turned on doesn't go to home scrren but has a pop up that's says booting device missing or not working insert booting device but I don't know what do from there

sounds like your HDD is not being detected

if the message is correct, it's possibly a big problem (ie. hard drive might have failed, or windows is corrupted)

first thing to do is to access your bios when the laptop starts up and see what is listed in boot devices (it's normally the del key, F2 or F10 during startup)

If it's not being detected in the bios, then the best you can do is try a bios update. Failing that, you'd be looking at a windows re-install.

Worst case scenario, the HDD or another component has become faulty
