So what are the best cpu's out there right now? I have £800 to spend on my new gaming computer. I was thinking Fx8-8350 but some have said it might not be the best option, I dont want to spend more than £200-220 on the cpu unless i really have to. Also about the graphics card, r9 290 or gtx 770?? Or something else which is better without an extremely big price tag?
That being said, obviously i dont want one to bottleneck the other, so no point buying a super good graphics card if my cpu if bottlenecking it. Thanks a lot.

Ok heres what I recommend. Not sure if your £800 includes other components too?
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (£208.56 @ YoYoTech)
Video Card: XFX Radeon R9 290 4GB Double Dissipation Video Card (£278.75 @ Scan.co.uk)
Total: £487.31
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-09-04 11:44 BST+0100
The above has the best CPU for your budget and the R9 290. The 290 and 770 are pretty much equal but the 290 can take advantage of mantle for games like battlefield 4. Therefore, I would recommend the 290. If you can spend more, I would suggest the GTX 780 or R9 290x.
If you want an even better cpu, you can get the i7 4790k but that will cost a little more.
Let me know if you want a motherboard to go with this as well (and other components?)

A R9 290 is better than a GTX770 per http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1068?vs=1037
A FX8350 or i5 4690k would power them no problem.
But I doubt you can put together a reasonable build with a 290 in it for 800 quid.
Try -
CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor (£121.49 @ YoYoTech)

Hi thanks for the reply. Yes £800 is the budget for the whole computer ( not including monitor mouse keyboard hard drive and dvd reader )
I will need 16gb of RAM too because i do a lot of programming, designing 3D etc etc.
So the i7-4770K will be good to go with r9 290? they wont bottleneck eachother?

I believe that GPU is reference cooler - they are dreadful on the 290 and 290x cards. A complete leaf blower in your PC!!! Incredibly loud and irritating.
Also, not sure how you can get that AsRock board for that price - its around £107 if you search on amazon.

Don't buy on ebay unless it is a proper retailer's shop on ebay. Yes if you aren't doing much gaming the fx 8350 will be better but it runs a lot hotter and you will need a different motherboard. I would never suggest the 8350, instead I would always recommend the 8320 as it is basically identical but with a lower clock and much cheaper price.
With the 8320, you will be able to run any graphics card pretty much -don't need to bother about bottlenecking. If you go down 8320 route, I suggest a 990FX motherboard such as the M5a99FX pro r2.0 and a good cooler.

Gaming is mostly what i will be using it for. So what cpu do you recommend? The i7-4770k ?? Also, what motherboard? And is 550W power enough to power it all??

550 is enough for this but if you plan on overclocking or adding more graphics card, you may need more.
Gaming mostly = i7
Gaming plus 3D work (like you mention) = FX 8320
i7 side of things does offer newer, more feature packed components though.
Have look at this too http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-4770K-vs-AMD-FX-8...
