Hi Jelsha!
I want to make sure I am reading right. You have an old hard drive that came with the computer originally. It has Windows 7 installed on it currently and is working fine on its own.

You bought a 2nd hard drive to upgrade with and would like Windows 7 to run off that hard drive instead of the old drive?

I hope I am understanding right :)

I believe you have a priority issue when booting.
Connect the HDD again, go into the bios and select the 1st boot device to be your old disk (which has the OS).
If you cant select them individually, than just disconnect them both, connect the OS HDD into the SATA 0 slot and the second one into any other SATA available ports.

Lemme know

With only 1 SATA port (I assume this is a laptop then? :) ) that makes things a little bit harder. If you want to keep your files and programs exactly as they are now and just move to the new drive, you will need to use a cloning tool like indy17 mentioned. With only 1 SATA port though, you will also need some sort of external USB to SATA adapter. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812232002 is one I use and love.

You will need a software package to run the cloning. Something like: http://www.runtime.org/driveimage-xml.htm
