Hi guys building my own gaming rig spec as follows
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU...
XFX 650w Pro series
Haven't sorted out Ram yet not sure on what brand to go for any Recommendation? Don't want to spend to much if I don't need to as thinking of buying good graphics card that's the next question what would uses recommend?
Would I have to overclock?
Have been looking at the R9 280 is the much difference in it and the X?
What bout the GTX range?
Thanks

I always prefer using Intel Nvidia and AMD with AMD/ATI, they have a sync when used like this. I would say buy a gtx 760. No overclocking needed. The 280x gets a little more power. Not true at all.
The perfomance difference can be up to 25% between the X and non X. Have you looked at the new R9 285?
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-radeon-r9-285-t...
It is priced about the same as the 280 but performs about halfway between it and the 280X whilst drawing much less power (About the same as the GTX760). That would be my recommendation unless you can find a very cheap 280X.

The Benchmark is close. It obviously has an increase in performance since its the extreme version. The Intel Nvidia combo is a legitimate aswell. since he is buying a I5 i would recommend a GTX over a AMD product in this case...... I can't even tell if you're trolling.
Let me explain this to you. If you look HERE and HERE you can see that intel CPUs top the charts. The only difference between the two graphs are the GPUs used, one AMD and one Nvidia. Whilst it may be true for very low end GPUs that they can combine with certain AMD CPUs in 'dual graphics' to give better performance this is an exception rather than the general rule.

What Ram should I purchase
Looks good to me. Try this http://www.ebuyer.com/264750-g-skill-8gb-ddr3-1600mhz-r...
Should match the aesthetic of the mobo well.

No. What you said is that Nvidia works better on intel and AMD works better on AMD. The graphs show that they both generally work better on intel due to architecture and therefore core efficieny. Also if you bothered to look at his original post he is purchasing the i5 4690K.

i said he was buying an i5 ..... regardless the same INTEL PROCESSOR when using a NVIDIA CARD will get a few extra frames. Hopefully i put that clear enough.

I concede that you did say he was buying an i5, my apologies I read the reply wrong. However it still stands that if you take the same AMD GPU and paired it with an AMD CPU it would not perform better than with and INTEL CPU as a general rule of thumb, please prove me wrong if you believe me to be.
Your original quote "I always prefer using Intel Nvidia and AMD with AMD/ATI, they have a sync when used like this."

Intel is superior yes. But if you used AMD and AMD you would get a better performance because its the manufacturers aim to optimize for their own products. This is a myth.
