MB: Gigabyte(AM3+) 78LMT - Usb3
PRO: FX 6300
RAM: CORSAIR VENGENCE 4gb 1600Mhz

When i looked up in the task manager the computer memory was shown as 1333mhz though it is 1600mhz ,like the Intel's xmp feature amd does not provide any. So i manually oced my ram from 1333mhz(x6.00) to 1600mhz(x8.00) ,by doing so my os windows 8 64bit would not boot stating the reason regarding the manual ugrade.
With this motherboard i had to remove my gpu to enter the bios!

Please help , thanks.

The FX chips support upto 1866 ram. The motherboard has little to due with this since the memory controller is in the CPU. I have the same board and cpu and my ram is at 2136 and is fine. Others have gone up to 2400.

You have to make sure the ram is set to the correct voltage and stock timings to work at rated speed. The board usually is set to auto timings which should work correctly. But the voltage does not always auto set correctly. You need to find out what voltage your ram is rated to run at and make sure the bios says it's set there.

Yes , i manually set it to 1600Mhz but windows would not boot, with the error message stating RAM OVERCLOCK not accepted.

You need to set the timing you cant just turn up the ram and expect it to work and that mobo is only meant for 1333mhz ram so it might not work at all. look up your ram timeing it should be something like 9-9-9-24 or something similar and you need to put that into dram timing control or whatever it is called in your bios.

Thanks, but could you please tell me where can i find the timing? and also the mobo says in its specifications 1333Mhz+ , so does it support ram with 1600Mhz base ?

Yup I have the 6300 and the 78lmt. Your ram is rated to 1600 and the mobo with cpu is technically rated to 1866.

The reason the board says it's rated for 1333+ is due to older cpu support. The older cpu's like the athlon II were only rated for 1333 ram. The FX chips are rated for 1866.
