Hello,

My friend bought a new Asus laptop that came with FreeDOS installed and he asked me to install windows7. I already had a bootable USB with windows7 copy in it so i agreed.

Problem: When i start booting from USB with copy of WINDOWS7, it just normally loads windows files then it shows that nice spinning windows7 image like when u see every time you start windows 7, and then if i remember correctly it should prompt you to user interface where you select your disk, make partitions and stuff, but it just crashes into blue screen.
My first thought was that maybe my USB became corrupted or something but then i found an old WindowsXP CD (not usb this time), and after booting and reading all the files successfully it just crashes into same blue screen before starting windowsXP installation.

After some Googling i found out that maybe its because of faulty RAM, but before braking bad news to my friend i would like to ask you guys fore other possible problems/solutions.

Maybe, i should somehow format the disk first to remove FreeDOS or something? ;/

for some reason my BIOS Version is 2.15.1227 and in the manual example its 2.15.1126

Under boot Configuration I only get 1 option:

Launch PXE OpROM and it is Disabled. (and i tried enabling it, but got same BSOD at the exact same time)
