Hey guys , i am planning on getting a H80i liquid cooler. But my question is , i have the DF-35 pc case and my fans are all hooked up to a Fan controller. I was wondering if i would be fine by using my normal antec fan that came with the case on the H80 and one corsair fan ? Or do you recommand using 2 of the same fans? Also can i cut over the small wire that connects the fan to the fan controller without risking something power related with the pc?

I would not put a case fan on the cooler, more than likely it does not spin at the speeds that the cooler is designed for. You will notice most case fans don't go above 1200rpm or so but a CPU fan can spin up to above 2000rpm. In my opinion you will want matching fans on the radiator and I would connect them via splitter to the CPU fan header on your motherboard so it can be controlled by the system. On top of that I believe the H80i has corsairs own software which will let you control the speed of the fans and set custom profiles etc...

But the wires of the intergrated fan controller are not really removeable , would i be able to cut the wire without damaging something?

Why are you trying to cut the wires? Why not use the cooler like it was intended, if not you should look at the H80 (non-i) it does not have any of the corsair link software.

EDIT -- Apparently the H80 also has the link software.

look : my case comes with some knobs on the back i can control my fan speed manually with (look up the DF-35 by Antec) So the fan is hooked up to it and and you CAN'T just plug it out , it has to be cut if i wanna remove the fan and i am just checking if that's any safe.

Ok, it didn't click that you needed to remove the rear fan for the radiator...I really don't know what would happen if you cut it, probably nothing but don't take my word for it.

To by pass this situation have you thought about using the 140mm fan slot at the top of your case? You can get the corsair H90 and place it there.

Same going on there , it also is connected to a fan controller. But i noticed i can screw out the fan controller , i might just screw it out and cut the cables , and get the H80
