I deleted a MMO game, but somehow there's still on my Windows "Start" screen and somewhere in my computer?

Hi. I hope this is a kind of question I can ask here, I don't think on the forum of the game itself they would be very friendly to me, considering this is about deleting the game.. sorry in advance, then!

I've played the MMO game "Tera" for quite some time, but now I realized I don't really play on it that often anymore, and to make space for other games I deleted it. Simply, with the Windows delete option, I choose to delete it and "InstallShield wizard" did the rest. Deleting it went fine. The shortcut got deleted from my desktop and when I looked at how many GB space I had left, I went from 255 to 289: so, it IS deleted, the files must be.
But, when I went to the Windows Start screen right after deleting, the shortcut is still there: "Tera" smiling very friendly (and real creepy) as if it's saying, "suprise, bet you thought you'd seen the last of me".

Now, I'm not that much of a clean and organize-freak, I'm already happy that I got my GB back: it would've been more of a problem if I deleted it, but I wouldn't get any GB back. So if there's no actual solution I might live in peace that I downloaded a MMO that stalks my poor laptop after deleting it. But still, it's a little, just a little bit creepy that there's still a shortcut of a deleted game there. It reminds me of those kind of viruses that don't leave you. You think you got rid of them, but they're still looking at you in the dark. So I want to know if I actually can do anything about this. The exact moment after the deletion I ran CCleaner (with the basic settings). Looks like that didn't help getting rid of it. I also tried to look where the file is located, that thingie you can do on Windows 8 when you right click on it, and when it locates me, it says it's somewhere "unknown". Apparently, it is..

I'm not real desperate to get rid of it if there's really no solution, but I would like to know if there is. Installing some program like a better, or extremer version of CCleaner is fine, I don't mind installing whatever, as long as I'll be able to delete THAT one without it leaving any nasty traces like this did. Again, hope this question is located fine here. Rather not get die hard gamers ripping me to shreds because I ask a question like this on the actual game forum, heh.

Thanks in advance! :D

Uninstalling a game is not the same as a deleting a game. There's a reason you can't just run a game off a USB thumb drive.

When a game is installed it makes entries in other places besides the Install Folder, that's just where the large chunk of the data goes. The installer writes paths for the data to access other data on your system in other places.

If you want to the game to really be gone, reinstall it. And the go to control panel, programs and features and uninstall it properly.

Did you verify under Control Panel that the program is no longer installed? If so, just move that shortcut to the Recycle Bin, as it's just a leftover (some developers aren't always good about making sure the Uninstall option truly removes all traces).

I'm not much into w8, but it's perfectly normal anyway. If it's occupying something, we're in the order of the tens of kilobytes, so nothing you should worry of either :)

Simply put, start menu and start screen, respectively for w7 and w8, have a completely separated folder from the rest of the system, and only reference other content. You could think of them as small sticky notes, telling you of events you need to attend.

You can either "take part" or "miss" the event, but the note will stay there until you manually remove it.

You probably just need to right click it and "un-pin" it from the start screen. Also, Tera was developed at the times of Vista/w7, the uninstaller probably doesn't even know how to address the start screen...
