Hello.

I have connected a secondary harddrive to my Windows computer, which I am planning to install a Linux distru on. Is it possible for me to mount the ISO file on a virtual drive in my Windows and then some-how install Linux onto the secondary drive?

Many regards
Jonas

I would just use the program Unetbootin and burn the ISO to your secondary drive.

Yes it is possible but safer and easier to just boot from a usb thumb drive...

As stated, its easier and safer to just boot with usb drive and install linux that way.

If the boot menu does not show up the way you want then use EasyBCD in windows to edit your boot menu to allow you to select which OS to boot from start

Alternatively just add the windows boot information to Linux/GRUB..

If he wants a dedicated Linux drive with the operating system and all his data, installing Linux to an external drive makes perfect sense. I don't see why it would be less safe or easy to do it that way.
