This has been bothering me for almost half a year and I really can't take it anymore. I can't play games like Battlefiled (3 or 4), PlanetSide 2, or even Skyrim (No graphical mods. Vanilla as far as graphics go) for more than 15-20 minutes. The screen goes black and typically the game's volume is still up but I can't do anything in the game window except close it down. I have no clue why this is happening. I was running the most recent Geforce drivers (340) and read that the 314 were a little more stable so I downgraded my drivers, yet the problem still persists. Is there any way at all to fix this?
My build is as follows:

AMD FX-8320 @ 4.5Ghz
Gigabyte-990FXA-UD3
Corsair Vengence 8GB (2x4) @ 1600Mhz
EVGA GTX 660 SCE

CoolMax ZX-600. 600Watts. It was one I really rushed to buy, but I was planning to replace it pretty soon (as in next week) and problems haven't been as bad until recently. Could it be my PSU?

It's possible, is the system stable overall? have you tested your ram settings in prime blend or memtest? Does the pc freeze or crash doing anything else?

Yes, the last time I overclocked my CPU to 4.5ghz (about two weeks ago) I ran prime 95 for 4 hours and no crashes. I never tested the ram though. I have no clue how. I should say though, the computer when not gaming is completely stable. Everything runs smoothly, I can run many things at the same time and there is no slowdown as far as I can tell, but if I start a game it will run smooth for all of 15-20 minutes before the driver crashes.

any other game s give you a hard time? i know bf has some memory leakage issues, but that shouldn't make you crash thaqt often I would guess. You can try running the resolution down to 720p to take the load off the gpu somewhat, and see if it still crashes. I'm assuming you're playing at 1080p

Yea I am :p  do you know if raising the voltage would make the gpu a little more stable?

almost forgot, throw vsync on to limit fps. most 6 series cards are voltage locked so most likely no, it won't make a difference.
