Hi all.......

I have Hp xw4600 workstation.
Cpu Q9650 Core2Quad 3.0ghz/1333/12mb Cache.
Ram 4gb
Mobo Intel X38 chipset
2x Pci-e express slots.
Psu 475Watt 80plus 85% efficient psu with One 6pin pci-e cconnector.

I want to buy a Sapphire R9-270 Dualx 2gb 256bit graphics card.

Q#1. Is sapphire r9-270x compatible with my xw4600 workstation machine without bottleneck or controversy about pci-e slot potential or bandwidth?

Q#2. Is my psu enough for sapphire r9-270x? helping with 6pin molex connector. One 6pin is already present in my psu.

Thanx for ur cooperation.

It probably would be bottlenecked by the PCI-E lanes and it depends on what manufacturer made your psu. I would still replace your PSU but your card should do alright without being severely handicapped. It just depends on what you're doing with it.

For your PSU I would get a Seasonic SSR-450RM. Great power supply that is semi modular (meaning that the only non modular cables are the GPU PCI-E power pins and the motherboard 24 pin ATX cable which you'll use anyway.) Hope that helps

Oh if it's PCI-E 2.0 and up then it's perfectly fine. In fact AMD still uses 2.0 on their AM3+ based motherboards. I would definitely replace that PSU. Really shady looking even for an Old replacement PSU.
