Hello,

My name is martin and i'm new here to this forum.

As the title may explain my ssd is very very slow, even slower then my old hdd.
Now i wonder why? and how do i fix this?
I recently bought new hardware including motherboard, cpu, psu and a ssd.
When i finished installing windows my ssd scored a 7.5 in the windows experience index.
Then the next day i ran a benchmark test and it only scored 8 mb/s r/w.
So i ran the windows experience index again and then it scored a 5.5, so i reinstalled windows and then it scored a 4.1...

Now what could i do to fix this? or is my ssd just broken?

I already set the bios settings for sata ports to AHCI Mode, but then my DVD Drive did not work and it made no difference on my ssd drive.

Please help!

PS my setup:

Motherboard: ASUS M5A78L-M / USB3
CPU: AMD FX8350
RAM: G.E.I.L. 1333MHZ 8GB (Dont know the type)
Graphics card: MSI HD7850 Twin Frozr OC
PSU: Coolermaster 700Watts
SSD: transcend SSD370 Sata 6

Thanks in advance!

You may have just bought your motherboard but it is old and was 1st released in 2011.
It does not have SATA 3 (6Gb/s) ports, it only has SATA 2 (3Gb/s), so you will not get advertised Read/Write speeds from your SSD.

That being said, 8MB/s Read/Write speeds is way to low. You should be getting 200-250MB/s with the type of motherboard you have. What software did you use to benchmark?

Benchmark with ATTO and post your results.

More than likely you will have to follow Michael Valen's advice and rma your SSD for a new one.

First. There could be something wrong with the Benhmark and Windows Indecs system for rating. If it runs just fine and faster then the HDD you don't really need to worry. Then on hand if it does not run how it should, slower then the HDD takes for ever to boot up, there is problem.

I think there is a you should check with the one who you bought it from to send you a new one and check if that works. And it could aslo be that you are using Sata 1 that one of my friends actually did. I don't know but check if you got it connected right.

Send it in, get new one and hope for that it works! Good luck :)
