Possible clash between on board graphics and the AMD card meaning there is no display, or a frozen display until the PC reaches windows 8 login screen. (Using HDMI connection.)

For example:

I can't see the boot screen with the AS Rock logo and if I press F2 to enter the bios, it still stays blank until I reset and let it boot all the way into Windows again.

I know the motherboard is okay because if I use the hdmi with only the onboard graphics (AMD card removed) then I can see the boot options and bios etc...

I previously had an ASUS P8B75-M LX and found the same issue with the same graphics card.

I've tried uninstalling the onboard graphics in Windows when the card is in but this doesn't help. :/

Can anyone help?? - I am now using the onboard graphics for the AS Rock for the time being but obviously want to put my AMD card back in!

Any help is appreciated. (OS is Windows 8). Cheers!

There should be a setting in the BIOS to change the preferred adapter from integrated to PCIe. If you select PCIe your card should be recognized first from power on.

It could have something to do with the HDCP handshake, can you see the BIOS or POST screen if you use DVI or VGA?
