Will these go well together? Should I invest more in a GPU and save on CPU ??

Alright so i have picked my parts and just want to check that all of these parts will go together well. Heres what ive picked:

GPU- r9 290
CPU- i7-4770K
RAM- Kingston 8gb 1600mhz
MOTHERBOARD- Gigabyte Z97-HD3 Intel LGA1150 Z97 ATX Motherboard
POWER- Corsair CSM 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
(i already have the OS, HDD, Optical drive, monitor mouse keyboard)

Main questions:
Will all of these parts all go well together??
Is anything going to bottleneck another?
Is 550W enough power??

Also: if lets say i will go for the amd fx 8350 instead (£100 cheaper), or the 8320 (£140 cheaper) and spend the £100 on an even better graphics card like r9 290x or gtx 780, would my gaming performance be better than it would be with i7-4770K and r9 290 ??

Thanks in advance for helping out.

I'm not an expert or anything but based on everything I have read here and other forums, plus the reviews on processors and graphics, right now, all you need is a i5 for gaming, as such there isn't any game that uses the additional grunt the i7 has over the i5. So if its just for gaming, i think it would be better to get an i5 (maybe a 4690k) then the saving can be used to get a better GPU

update: typed 4790k by mistake, also thought the GIF was 4690k my bad

In pure gaming and not doing video encoding/rendering etc the i7 will offer almost zero gain over say an i5 4690k, which would still be better then fx-8350.

I would downgrade to the i5 and get a better gpu.

No, the 550w will not be enough, you should at least get a 650w-750w psu depending on what gpu you decide on.

Stick with intel if you can afford it, they are better, if you really wanted to save £100, get a i5 4690k instead, then get a better gpu, you gpu you chose is fine, but if you really wanted improvements wait for the 900 series that are coming out this month, don't get a gpu when a new series are so close to being released

Thanks everyone for your replies. If however i decided to go with what i have already picked (with better power supply) then would everything work fine together ??

Could you recommend me a good PSU 650W + ?? As i might overclock and then would probably need more than a 500W. Thanks

One more question, If i bought the i5 4690k instead as recommended above, which would save close to £100, then bought the gtx 780 instead, would that give me better gaming performance?? so basically: i5 4690k + gtx 780 VS Intel Core i7-4770K + r9 290.

Yeah, well, the 780 is a it better than the r9 290, maybe 1-10fps more sometimes, so if you can do that, that'd be good, or go r9 290x
