Seeking a second opinion on my build before ordering (i5 $880 gaming build)

Hey all

Me and my friend are building a gaming pc for him.
Planning on ordering these parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/jPbsVn
It needs to play recent and future games at 1080p with medium to high settings

What do you guys think? This is my second build.

Pretty decent build, only a few things:

If spending the money on a new build I would get a Z97 or at least an H97 board over a b85.
I would get a little higher power of a PSU, recommended is 500 watts so 550watts does not give you much wiggle room.
I would try to get windows 8.1 disk, not windows 8

Get 1.5v RAM and a normal HDD. That one is designed for surveillance system hardware.

Otherwise it looks good.

windows 8 auto upgrades to 8.1 when you install it.

550w is plenty for this build. More than enough.

He has no need for a Z97 board with a locked CPU, but I agree that an h97 board will be nice. The board he has will work just fine though.

Good catch on the HDD, didnt even look at the model numbe that closely.
Yeah I saw that he didnt have OC CPU, but H97 would be better.

Did not know that bout 8 auto-updating to 8.1
