Hi, all, I am looking for advice. I've been buying gaming computers for more than 5 years, and the last one I bought from Alienware. I know a lot about computers; I can replace graphics cards, hard drives, RAM, and other components.

I do not know, however, anything about cooling, fans, and installing motherboards.

I realized that I'll spend an extra $1000 if I buy from Origin, but I'm sure that all will go smoothly if I buy from Origin.

I am spending exactly $3500 on a gaming rig. Do you think it is possible for me to successfully build one with just parts?

Thanks.

Assembling a computer from components is a lot easier than most people tend to think. If you can work a phillips head screwdriver, you can build a computer. There are detailed tutorials all over the internet, as well, and the manuals that come with components usually are fairly thorough as well.

I´d always say build your own and since you´re already spending that much money you can get a bit more power for your money by doing it yourself.
If you´re concerned about putting everything together, watch some build guides on youtube linustechtips does great videos and explaines every step in building a PC.

Build your own, with 3.5 k you can even be 4k ready, with a prebuilt, you'd only be okay on playing at maybe dual 1440p

If you can replace a GPU. RAM, and a HDD, then you really shouldn't have any problems building a PC. There are videos, and people here are always willing to answer questions and give guidance.

Building your own system will save you money plus you can pick out every part to make sure it has the compatibility and performance level you want.

Build your own, origin and them even show you what parts they are using... compare and see how much markup there is...

check out pcpartpicker for ordering, and logicalincrements.com for suggested builds per price point (don't forget to add ~100 ish for windows if you need that).

toms, linus tech tips, youtube all have plenty of videos on how to assemble and set things up, pcs are rather simple anymore in getting up and running, plus it increases your knowledge of how the thing works.
