My old headset wont work on my new computer that i just built, i bought a new headset and it doesnt work still. the audio from both work so like i can hear things from the computer but my mic thats built into the headset wont work on either of the headsets. there is no way its a problem with the headsets and im not sure what to do, please help

Win7? If not,im not sure the details but it shouldnt be too different.
If you can find your Sound properties(Search:Sound or find Sound in the Control Panel) and switch tabs to Recording. From there you can see whick Recording Devices are hooked up and enable/disable them.
If you dont see any decives right click the box and make sure "Show Disabled/Disconnected Devices" is checked.
