I am having issues with my Pioneer VSX 1122k. Before i explain the problem let me describe how i have my receiver hooked up. I have my TV, PS4 and cable box hooked up to my receiver via HDMI. I have a 5 speaker surround system hooked up to the receiver. The receiver worked fine the first year but recently my audio has been corky. On certain days when i turn the receiver on i am only able to get video while the audio does not work. It does not matter what source i have it on (cable, PS4, tuner, etc.) the audio will not work. I noticed i have to disconnect the receiver unplug HDMI's and reconnect again to get the audio working. It's got to the pt where this happens every day and i have to disconnect receiver multiple times to get the audio working.

I've tried to reset the receiver to default settings, running the latest software update but that did not seem to work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I was thinking about opening the receiver and using a dust cleaner and restripping the speaker wires, maybe that might do the trick?? If anyone has experienced and has any suggestions please let me know.

Thanks

Check with Pioneer to see if they have a problem with this model of receiver. It sounds like you are having an HDMI problem. If the speakers were the issue then the receiver would go into protection and shut off. Reconnecting the HDMI would not solve the problem.

Thanks @americanaudiophile. I did read from someone that there was some issues with the HDMI connection (soldering) being loose. I also agree that the speakers are not the issues, they are within specs for this receiver. I will look into taking it to a repair shop and having them take a look at the hdmi ports.
