Files on HDD have no internet connection

Hey everyone! It's my first post here, so sorry if it's in a wrong section.

Anyway, two days ago I bought the Samsung Evo 250GB SSD and copied my current HDD to it using the software provided by Samsung (it's called Data Migration). Everything went fine, the OS (Windows 7 64-bit) is now booting from the SSD, except for one thing that I can't fix.

Here's the problem: when I put something on the HDD (games, Steam) it says that it has no connection to the internet, while I'm browsing the internet and watching videos on youtube (the browser is on SSD). I tried giving the programs administrator privileges, but it didn't solve anything.

HDD: Seagate 1TB (ST1000DM003) Sata III, 7200RPM
MOBO: MSI Intel B75 LGA 1155 mATX (B75MA-E33)

Don't know if it will help, just putting it out there.

Any help will be appreciated, thank you in advance.

Are you just placing them on the hard drive or installing them to the hard drive?

Games and programs should be installed in the new location. At that point you can copy the files over the installed copy to deal with saves/mods/updates/ect.

If you just placed them, you may have to make a rule in the Windows firewall to allow them to access the net. My ups software was moved via a junction point and could not be accessed remotely(in the same network) any more, but was fine locally. I just had to add a rule and it has been working perfect ever since. This was a bit different because it is a service and Windows starts it from the other drive.

Steam also has an option to add another game library so new games will be installed on what ever drive you select.

When I try to launch Steam (it's a gaming platform in case you didn't know) it says "Updating Steam.." then, after ~5 seconds it says the following: "Steam needs to be online to update. Please confirm your network connection and try again."
Also it's not just that program, I'm just using it as an example.

I have already tried turning off my AV, same error.

@EDIT: @nukemaster, I am installing directly to the drive, also all the programs are listed in the Windows firewall and are allowed to access the internet. Also, I can't install games, because I can't even launch Steam.

EDIt.

I see you made an edit. This was my first guess.

It is a very strange issue indeed.

I have not used that software, but it seems to have done something strange when migrating.

______________OLD POST_________________

Windows has a built in firewall. You may have to add a rule to it.

This program did not ask at all, I have to ADD it manually. The same may happen if you moved steam from one drive to another. Windows can get this way when you move stuff.

It works because it's on the SSD, the SSD works perfectly, I just don't want every program to be located in the SSD (you know, 250GB is not much)

Also, @nukemaster, I know about the steam's function to have multiple game libraries, but when I install steam on the SSD, and the game on HDD, the game can't connect to the internet. That was the issue I had before making this topic.

I did format the HDD, checking the logs now.

@EDIT: It seems that there's nothing wrong in the logs, nothing appears.

@EDIT2: I restarted my pc, and almost instantly after it turned on I launched Steam with administrator privileges. Here's the strange thing - it started downloading the update. I was happy that something may have fixed the problem, but the update stopped at ~7MB downloaded, and the "no internet connection" error came up.

It seems that the HDD has the connection at first, but loses it a few seconds in. Strange.

I think I have solved the problem. I reconnected the HDD to a different SATA III cable and I have connection now.
Don't know why it happened or how it works.

Thank you guys very much for taking your time and trying to help me solve the problem :)

Ehh, unfortunately, the problem is back. Steam works perfectly, has internet connection etc., but everything else doesnt work. No idea why. I'm on my phone now, I guess the last option is to reinstall windows. It's a shame, I hate doing that :(

Thank you again.
