Hey, first time builder here,

I am looking into purchasing a Rosewell Black Hawk case and an Asus z97pro Wifi Motherboard. I will also have a CM hyper 212 Evo CP cooler on a 4970k cpu.

The mother board come's with:

1 x CPU Fan connector (4-pin) for both 3-pin(DC mode) and 4-pin(PWM mode) CPU coolers control with auto detection support - Use for the CM hyper?

1 x CPU OPT Fan connector (4-pin) - Unsure of Use

4 x Chassis Fan connectors

And the Case hes 5 case fans.

How would I go about Controlling the last fan? I assume an Aftermarket fan controller would be needed, but would it make sense to run all 5 off the Fan controller instead of the Mobo?

Thanks,

If you get a fan controller, it would make sense to run all of your case fans with it. I'd recommend just getting a fan splitter cable and running two of the fans off of one header.

You'll plug your CM Hyper into the CPU_FAN header. If you add a second fan to the cooler (212?) you can plug the second one into CPU_OPT which will mirror the CPU_FAN settings. If you're not going to use a second fan, you can just plug your rear exhaust fan into it, which will make a splitter for the others unnecessary.
