@TopLoca: You forgot to include a case, which would jack that up to $650, which it too much.

Okay children. The 6300 and the 4150 are equal. The 4150 wins in some games and as does the 6300. They are about equal where the shine the most. But I like i3s because they laugh at the 6300 in terms of single threaded performance, and the AM3+ is dead. However in this case I went with the 6300 because OP wants to video edit. And turkey stop trying to beak everyones builds.. Yours isnt so perfect. You need a BIOS update with H81 motherboards and and 4150. GG. Oh yeah and no where did OP say that the monitor was included in the $600. He said he will be purchasing one.

My suggestion:

The 760k experiences bottleneck past the 265 so if you want the above build just get the 265!

He never said to put a monitor in the build price. He said he is buying one, but he did not say to include it.

Good grief the OP has now been provided with tonnes of options and now let's wait until they reply or respond rather than bickering.

We've all spent time trying to find the best build but clearly some questions have arisen as to whether his budget includes the price of a monitor or not.

Whilst we wait for them to respond let's go help some other nice folk on other threads for a while eh? ;)

Finally done my school work to find all these builds. Wow. I'm sorry for not being specific enough about the monitor issue here. I intended for the price of the monitor to be in the build price.

I'm leaning the most towards Travis' build at the moment. Maybe I can try to stretch my budget out to get a 6300.

For gaming the i3 will be better than the Fx .

That would be awesome! Sorry I did not include it in price. I was unaware of the bottleneck.

The FX would be better in newer games like watch dogs and bf4 that use multi cores better. BUT if he was thinking about upgrading to a better cpu later on I think the i3 would be better because he could use the same motherboard for an i5 or i7.

Yes this is true.. And I also prefer the intel chip sets on motherboards.

OK if you have a strong preference for AMD then this fx6300 build is around budget (with rebates) and has a good graphics card for gaming at 1080p. I would always suggest you have an aftermarket cooler for FX chips as the stock ones are awful.

The above build is perfect. The TX3 is a great budget cooler to replace stock coolers. Don't OC with it though! Really impressive build above GJ:)
