Corsair 900D worth it?

Hello,

I'm going to upgrade my computer case (disliking my current one) and I was actually going for the Corsair 760t - but then I saw the 900D. It seems like a really beautiful case, but I think it might be too big for my current setup.
This is my current setup:
8GB Corsair Vengeance 1866MHz
WD Blue 1TB
Corsair CX760M PSU
i7-4770K processor
MSI Z87-G45 motherboard
MSI GTX770 Twin Frozr 4GB
ASUS Xonar Essence STX
Samsung 840 EVO 120 GB.
As you can see, nothing special - as there is not even any watercooling.
I know a lot of people at this point will say "Go with the 760T" - but I am doubting because I do plan on upgrading a lot over the coming years. I do plan (quickly after I get either of those cases) remove the CPU cooler (Gelid Tranquillo Rev.2) and put a custom water loop in there. But the rest of those plans will take years - so I'm wondering, is it wise to buy the 900D if I plan on upgrading a lot, despite these upgrades taking 2-3 years?
Part of me tells me "Yes, just go with it - you can use that case for many (perhaps up to 10+) years and you have lots of room to expand when you want to upgrade/change something", but another part of me thinks "No, your case will look empty to begin with and as it may take 2-3 years to upgrade to it's full potential, it might be a better idea to buy the Corsair 760T now and upgrade in 2-3 years when you can start some serious upgrading".
I'd like to know what you people think about this, and if it is worth to spend another 100-150 euros on the 900D as a long-term investment, despite it perhaps looking a bit empty to begin with (though I'll soon add a custom water loop after it).

I wouldnt go for the Corsair 760T if your going to be doing a watercooling upgrade, you can always get the 800D

My Take on it...

The 900D is not for extreme water cooling... Not even close.

The 900D is worth it if you think it is. It is a good case with good airflow, but it has the same problems as many cases. It might not fit your build, or what you think is right. In the end it is up to you, and what your budget is.

If you have some money to put in your machine look at CaseLabs, you can create the case you desire with what you need. But be for warned their cases for the 900D sizes are are starting and I mean STARTING at $399.00 for complete bare bones, and can hit $1000 easy. Mine was $719, and worth every penny, my case cost more than my GPU...

If you set the 900D up right it is a fantastic case, the airflow is great.

The fact that your case costed more than your GPU hurts my soul

I have just looked at them, but what I dislike about those (but like about the 900D and the 760T) is the massive window on the side and that you can literally see everything in it - that's why I've kind of choosen for the 900D/760T and I don't like the 800D and the NZXT H440 too much for those reasons.

Well, as I said it's going to be a long-term project so it is hard for me to say with how many radiators I'll end up. But the current plan is to, when I'm going to upgrade the case with watercooling, it'll be a custom loop and I plan on spending about 450 dollars on it for the CPU and I'll get a 3 fan radiator for it. Then somewhere next year or the year after I'm going to buy GTX Titan Black SLI (or perhaps different ones, depending on what Nvidia is going to be releasing prior to my GPU upgrade), upgrade my PSU and add a second water loop (either 2x 2 fans radiator or a 1x 3 fan radiator).

I might look into a CaseLabs case, but I don't think I'll be putting that much money into my case. It's interesting to see that someone actually says "Just get the 900D if you want to get it". I've just started considering it again..

The 900D is a great case, I was very close to getting one until I found out about CaseLabs. Check out some of the youtube videos with Caselabs cases against others, and some of the VERY nice builds people completed, and you will see why I moved to them.

They make a case that you can use over and over again. If you want to make it look different, you can just order replacement/different parts for your machine. There is nothing like them.

As I said though if you look for something 900D size they get pricey, but CaseLabs does have cases that start in the mid $200's.

But again you can't go wrong with a 900D, and if you can find a 800D that is awesome since they ceased being made last year, but that case I like far more then the 900D.
