So, today i upgraded my graphics card to a 750ti, i did my research, and this card could play all the games i wanted on ultra no problem. After a few computer shutdowns, driver installations, etc etc. i finally get this thing to work, and it runs the EXACT same as my old 550ti. It cant run wow on medium above 25 fps (when people said ultra at 60 was the norm) I don't know what i'm supposed to do. When i looked at the card on best buy's website it said 300 Watt power supply minimum, and after looking on the box it said 400. So i thought to myself "well i have a 420W psu this should still work". Im not sure if the psu is the problem or something else. I know im not bottlenecking etc. it just wont run like people said it would. if anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated

Full specs, resolution, and games you are trying to run?
The 750Ti benchmarks around 58 on WoW, its a bottleneck somewhere else most likely.

Your CPU is very weak, and you are trying to play a CPU intensive game. That is your issue here, and that should be the next upgrade.

Fx-4100= bottleneck. The Bulldozer(faildozer) based cpus are actually slower than the previous generation of phenom IIs.

alright so what happens if i were to take back the card and buy a 200$ cpu? would the 550ti run anything well? and if not, give me a cheap video card that runs well with a 150$ cpu. i need to upgrade so i need suggestions

That CPU is probably bottlenecking the GPU.

Whats the make and model of your 420w unit? A decent quality unit shouldn't have a problem with a fx 6300 and a 750 Ti.
