Can I combine a Asus AMD APU with a Asus nividia graphics card?

I purchased a custom gaming tower back in February and I love it. However, the current amd r7 260x in it isnt cutting it in my currect games, It refuses to go above 35fps on the settings that it should run easily. I found out that it will not go above 40 at all because the game is not optimized for AMD.
My plan is to buy the Asus Geforce GTX760 "http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121775" as seen on new egg. My question was whether or not the Nivida card would work along side my AMD APU. Thoughts?

I mainly play World of tanks, which is the problem game, I also play fallout which runs a little better then WoT, same goes for Warthunder. BF4 is kinda slow only at 40 fps, but BF3 is easily 60 on ultra.

The point I was making was that of the two idenically priced (amd vs nvidia) video cards, the AMD video card had a better gpuboss score.
Look, if you want to spend that much money on an nvidia 760, go right ahead, my point is its probably either a hardware issue itself or a poorly optimized game. you can get better performance per dollar using an AMD card.

What game were you running? some games tend to have problems with certain card models/gpu chipsets (oland, hawaii, ect).

You have it arse about face, it's the card and drivers that are poorly optimised for the games not sponsored by AMD.

Actually I see that as humorous, a developer would be shooting themselves in the foot if they simply designed for one specific brand of GPU, they want their games available to different platforms, GPUs, consoles, devices, OSs, etc. As Mousemonkey said, the manufacturers try and fine tune drivers to their hardware for improving the gaming experience....and to be honest AMD tends to fall behind nVidia in the driver side of things
