So I have my Toshiba Satellite L455-S5975. Its pretty dinged up on the outside, and I had this other Toshiba Satellite laying around. I got this oh so great idea to take the shell and lcd of that laptop and hook my motherboard up to it. I fitted everything into the laptop, hooked up the display, and powered it on. The new LCD had stayed black and i started to smell what smelled like shorted electronics. It turns out that it was the built in webcam... I decided that it wasn't such a good idea to do this, so i put everything back into the original casing, and back to the original lcd. Anyway, I'm gonna cut to the chase. I turn on my laptop and it displays only white. I believe that I may have shorted out one of the pins that controls the data going out to the display on the motherboard. One of the tell tale signs of it is that below one of the pins, there's now a black soot looking mark. (Yayyyy.... Lol) It works fine when using an external display, but I'd really like to have an actual laptop back. Imo, I think I blew the port controlling the internal LCD. What do you guys think? Any tips? Thanks for any help in advanced! :D

PS: The L455 doesnt come with a built in webcam, and I'm assuming specifically, that the port with the soot may have been programmed for the lcd data, while in reality, it was really sending signals to the webcams wire.
