I'm having a bit of a problem. I built my own computer, and with several years of having worked with computers extensively, I felt confident that building my own finally would pay off.

Unfortunately it is not turning on.

I believe I have everything plugged in, although there is one cord that is a mystery to me, and does not appear to fit anywhere on the motherboard, as far as I can tell.

My specs are as follows-
1 AMD FX 6300 CPU (with a CoolerMaster CPU Heatsink and two fans)
1 ATI Radeon 6970 (with an Accelero XTreme IV Heatsink and three fans)
8GB DDR3 RAM (Vulcan)
ASUS M5A99FX Pro 2.0 Motherboard
Antec 750w Power Supply

The one cable that is baffling me is a 20 pin USB 3.0 cable that doesn't appear to fit anywhere.

Any thoughts on the matter would be much appreciated.

And, though I would rather not have to tear the computer apart again, I am completely willing to do so if it would turn on.

The 20-pin USB 3.0 cable, according to the manual for your motherboard plugs in "mid-board.

Instructions on page 1-30 of the manual.

As for not powering on, you will have to take it all apart. Remove or disconnect from the motherboard everything except the CPU and one stick of RAM - go ahead and make sure once more that that one stick is seated correctly. Make sure your CPU has the heatsink and cooler properly installed.

Make sure the 24-pin plug is correctly oriented and inserted into the motherboard. Make sure the CPU has the CPU-Power connected ( 8-pin socket labeled "1" on my image of the motherboard), With that configuration, you should be able to press the power button on the motherboard and get something.

Thank you- I missed that before putting the Graphics Card in, and it hides the entire socket. I'm going to have to adjust that.
