I've just built my computer and am trying to boot from my Windows 8 CD. The BIOS sees my SSD and HDD and lists them as #1 and #2 in the Boot Priority. I have an optical drive connected as well, I am able to open it and insert my CD, but it is not listed as Boot option. Also, my Boot Device LED lights a continuous red, not sure if that matters.

Does it matter which SATA port the optical drive is plugged into? I had it plugged into SATA3G_6. Should it be plugged into SATA3G_3? I could try that if need be, but my video card is covering that slot, so I will have to make some adjustments.

It should not matter as long as all SATA ports are enabled in your BIOS. Also, make sure that both the SATA data and power cables are connected firmly to the optical drive and to the motherboard (both ends of SATA data cable and the SATA power connector attached to the PSU).
