LGA2011 is not compatible with LGA2011-3 and Haswell-E only supports DDR4 while x79-based boards only have DDR3 slots.

I have the 5820k on MSI X99S Sli Plus
And no it wont 2011 v3 boards only. And really would be such a waist if you could make it work. I have mine set up with 16gb DDR4 Ram at XMP 2800mhz, To do this the BLC is set at 127,3 with multiplier x36. This ends up with Base speed at 4.567mhz on all cores. And still will turbo on one core if needed
Very quick cpu. I use a Corsair H110 with Asaka 14cm fans to cool. temps most of the time 26-27c in ambient temp 21c
Max temps reach in Cinebench 48c
Very happy. Sold my i7 4790k set. and bought this. Cost me £100 on top
