Hi, i am trying to clone a HDD to another HDD.. obviously.

When looking for information on cloning HDD's i see a lot on "HDD to SSD" but not very much on HDD to HDD. I want to make sure i can do this without any issues.

Basically i would just like someone to recommend me a reliable HDD to HDD cloning software please.

Solution
HDD to HDD is pretty much the same as HDD to SSD, only real difference is size and speed. Any cloning software (Acronis or Clonezilla as examples) can do it from HDD to SSD or HDD to HDD or whatever combination you'd want. I personally use Acronis True Image and it works very well.

Likewise, the free version of Macrium Reflect works nicely, and is easy to use. As it happens, I did
just such a clone today, 750GB Enterprise SATA to a replacement 750GB, some 560GB of data,
all worked ok.

Any of them should do really. It's a bit more tricky with cloning C-drives to SSDs though. I tried
a range of cloning programs (all the ones mentioned here); none could do it 100% reliably, but
Macrium failed the least often (if I can put it that way). Problems can occur if Windows has not
erased old data about partitions which no longer exist; after a clone, the old data can confuse
the way Windows auto-selects drive letters on startup, and how they correspond to device IDs.
One can fix such an issue via regedit from a boot disc DOS window, but it's annoying. Usually
though, it does work ok.
