Everything is running fine on my desktop and on 2D browsing. 2D games and 3D fighting games (SF4, MK) are working fine. My problem is on most 3D games such as dota, SC2, smite, bl2, portal2, ac4, etc, where I play for a couple of minutes and then my monitor loses signal and doesn't display anything on the screen again until I restart my PC. I tried plugging in my hdmi again, but that didn't work. My computer is still on when this problem occurs so my pc didn't overheat or shut off. I have heard some people running an 280x on a 500w psu, so I don't know if my psu is the problem. I have a 600w cooler master psu. I assume it is something to do with the 280x drivers. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers from the amd site, but no luck unless I did something wrong. If someone can help that would be great!

Looks like you got a BSOD. It's happening to many AMD customers due to AMD's bad drivers.

The PC would shut off when PSU is failing. As you have observed only the screen getting turned off while gaming, it means the graphics card is losing its life. Replace it.

Yeah my screen turns blue when it happens, but does not say anything. Is there a way I can fix this??? But if my graphics card is losing life why doesn't it happen to my other games weird?

Try plugging the GPU into a different PCIe slot , that might help sometimes ! Replacing the card would be a last resort option not just that easy.

Post your complete and detailed build.

Do you get any BSoD errors? and reference to filenames?

Download HWInfo and run Sensors. Post the results - usually 3 screenshots in TinyPic or similar - so we can see how well your hardware is behaving.

Make sure that you've installed and can use the uefi software that came with your mobo - to be able to verify any odd readings.

Try reseating it and connect the power cables again , before that specify your PSU's model and manufacturer.

From bios/uefi, what readings are you getting for the 12v, 5v and 3.3v rails?

Ohh !! The PSU is the problem , its a tier 5 PSU which means replace ASAP ! That's the cause of the problem. Try replacing it before you try and mess with the 280x to avoid further damage from insufficient 12V rail Power

His PSU is a tier 5 PSU , that's the sole reason for the problem.

Yeah I think you are right! I just played Killing floors and torchlight 2 and they ran fine. I even started a new profile on borderlands 2 and that worked, but when I play with my saved profile it does the problem again. What PSU do you recommend I get?

XFX 550W or Seasonic 520W

Okay cool, but the 280x says it needs 750w, but I do know it can be run on a 500w. Would a corsair hx or tx be good also?

Must be my psu then! I'll be looking for that seasonic to buy soon. I heard they are very good psu. Would a corsair hx or tx also be any good? or do you recommend the seasonic? Thanks! I guess I am limited to what games I can play for now.
