So my friend said I should disk stripe my computer, and I am kind of lost when it comes to this. He started to do it and left before windows 7 finished its 159 or so updates. I was hoping there was a way to get on my original "hard drive" while this 1 is updating cause it looks like it will take forever...been over an hour and not even halfway yet. Please help! lol

If each drive is independently bootable, then you have to go into the BIOS and choose which one to boot from. While the machine is starting up, look for a message that says "press (some key) to enter setup." Pressing that key will bring you to the bios menu.

There is usually another key you can press for a boot menu that only affects which drive it boots from for this particular boot.

Mayhap said friend should walk you through it.
IMHO, your friend did you a disservice; striping is for people who know a lot about it and how to recover from the messes it can cause. Also, striping and updates are separate things, so I am somewhat confused about how updating is part of striping.

Having gotten that off my chest, can you provide some details?

Was this done to an existing Win7 installation, a brand new build with no OS on it, or as part of a re-installation?
Was the striping done with the Windows 7 installation procedure, in the BIOS ("in hardware"), or in Disk Management in an already-running OS?
I almost always let updates run while I am working on other things - the only thing you shouldn't try, IMHO, is software installations. Are you having problems accessing the data on your drive?

Sorry about the confusion. My friend had another hard drive for me and put it in the computer and he installed another windows 7 on it for specifically gaming and nothing else so the game runs better. That being said, what I need to know is how to get to the black boot screen to choose between which 1 I want to run each time? Supposedly you must restart your computer to switch between the 2..

Yeah...only that is you booted from your old drive the freshly installed Windows on the new drive would never update. You can't just boot from another drive and expect OS to update itself.
