I'm building a real cheap computer for my neighbor's son. I managed to pickup a brand new x4 750K processor for $60 off of ebay. Newegg is currently selling a XFX R7 265 for $149 with 15% off and a $20 mail-in rebate card. I'm trying to keep this as low as possible for him because he's a student and needs a new pc.It's a mini itx build because he won't have a lot of space in his dorm room. I already got a GIGABYTE GA-F2A88XN-WIFI FM2+ board with a cooler master elite 130 case. I'm hooking him up with a 1TB WD Blue hard drive and 8GB G.Skill 1600Mhz Ram. Will he okay with the R7 265? I know there's no need to install a R9 280x card because the bottleneck will be severe. Below I posted the link for the graphics card on Newegg.

You will get slight bottleneck when playing CPU intensive games, but you will be ok besides that.
OCing the 750K will help decrease the bottlenecking.

I planned on overclocking it to 4.0 to 4.2GHz. I will be using a Noctua NH-L9a 92mm SSO2 CPU Cooler. I used Noctua coolers in the past, so I trust them to achieve the overclocking I want to do to the cpu. He plays a lot of Battlefield 4, so I know he'll need the overclock to run it on a 1080p monitor.

Faster RAMs will substantially increase system memory bandwidth.

I'm running an Athlon 750K with DDR3 2400MHz and an HD 7870 (on that same motherboard :) ) -- so don't shy-away from an R9 270/X if you can find a bargain.

That's an interesting thought. I'll pull up pcpartpicker.com and see what I can find. I original picked the XFX R7 265 because of the price and 256 bit memory interface

If he's hot on BF4, you need to throw as much video card at it as you can. Some of the 270s are hitting $150 after rebate.

Get on the Egg E-Blast mail list and catch a deal.

What do you think about Powercolor? This one is on sale.
