hello guys i need help updating the bios of Intel DG31PR motherboard. I tried the intel express bios update file but that only results in a black screen after the shutdown of the computer. So i need a step by step guide to update it's bios. Also i have an empty dvd-r so if you guys can tell me the steps i can update bios like that too. I need to update the bios cause my graphic card R7 250 is not running after installing the drivers and the manufacturer told me that i need to update the bios in intel motherboard to be able to run the card. Thanks in advance.

jhonnyb105 i already went here and followed but i cant the steps right.

geofelt i went to your link too and it is very very old method and the files i downloaded seems nothing like those, and when i try to open IFLASH2 it shows this OS does not support full screen so i can't go that way. Express bios update is also not working for me. So if you can tell how to bios update with the recovery method that would'be great or if you can tell me the IFLASH2 method that would be great too.

So guys i figured out my own problem on how to update the BIOS:

1:First i downloaded the latest bios version the recovery version which has the extension .BIO (not the Iflash2 method or the express install method)
2: Follow all the methods given here to create a bootable thumb drive or usb.
3: After following the above tutorial paste the xxx.BIO file in the empty thumb drive or usb (remember the drive have to be empty and the "xxx" represents the file name).
4: Now shut down the PC remove the AC cable or power cable and then open the chassis or the back cover and on the intel motherboard there should a yellow tiny little jumper basically it will only the yellow little thing but if not sure ask, remove it.
5: Now attach the thumb drive and keeping the jumper remove attach the AC cable back and turn on the PC and after the intel logo or splash screen the BIOS update should start automatically.
6: After the BIOS is finished you should receive the bios update successful prompt and it will tell you that the PC will not restart let it happen and when it restarts plug off the cable wait for the light on the motherboard to go off and put the jumper back in the same position as you removed it.
7: Turn on the PC and go to the BIOS i hope your BIOS will be updated.

And all the guys here thank you so much for the help and updating my BIOS got my graphic card to work in my motherboard so i was right it was not faulty. WEll thanks for the help and see ya around.
