my i3 550 is showing only 1 core 1 thread help please

im using i3 550 and h55mvx-le foxconn mainboard but cpu-z shows only 1 core 1 thread
i checked bios core menu, hyper-threading menu and set them to use all cores and hyper-threading. Also i checked msconfig boot menu but in msconfig it shows that i have only one processor. What should i do? it bothers me so much please help me

Where did you buy the i3-550?
I have heard of reports that some unscrupulous people have managed to alter lesser chips to look like something stronger.

Intel has a 3 year warranty, but you are likely past that.

Look in your bios or in windows. There are options to use only one core.

If you are certain that is not the problem, Intel would be very interested in a RMA and getting it back for analysis.
