What's more powerful, a G3258 OC to 4.4ghz or a stock 4570 i5?

For most tasks, and what would be more sufficient in gaming? I'm sure the i5 would smoke it in benchmarks, but thread for thread is it as fast in real world scenarios. I have an overclocked g3258 and am very impressed with it (it's great in every game except for Watchdogs) , but I have the 4570 heading this way so I'm getting a little curious.

It very much depends on the game.
If you game is primarily single threaded, and most are, your G3258 will be better.

Since you have a 4570 coming, you can tell how they compare in YOUR games.

Do take the time to get some before numbers for the games you play and please report how well the 4570 numbers come out.
The i5-4570 no question about it , even though the G3258 is a very strong CPU when overclocked it can't match the fire-power of stock i5 or even the higher i3.

For gaming The G3258 is very good but the i5 will still smoke it however if you're happy with it you can keep it for another 6-7 months till you have more money to spend on a graphics card or an unlocked processor.
