Note: I'm asking in this subforum because I can't find a proper sub-forum for this particular issue, but it happend on different OS and different machines.

Attachment: "froggy" sound at the end of the clip (low volume) - http://vocaroo.com/i/s13P3MgJzTR8

I've been hearing this "frogy - croack" sound very often (sometimes every 10 seconds, sometimes every few hours) on my DIFFERENT systems (XP, 7, and now 8) and DIFFERENT machines (Laptop and now PC).

I can't track exactly when this started to happend, I just moved from a laptop to a NEW desktop pc I built for this MMO I'm playing hoping that I'd get rid of this extremely annoying froggy sound, but it seems impossible, its literally driving me insane.

Can anyone tell me what is causing this and how can I solve it please!

Are you in the same location when it happens? It may not be the computers, but something like an Annoy-a-tron 2.0

Well, if the sound is happening with more than one machine, what is the common component? Are you using a theatre component for surround or an external sound card with both machines? Obviously it has to be something you are connecting to both systems and is common.

Boot up in safe mode, does it still happen? (should tell you if its software or not)

He already said it's not machine specific. The same problem happens on multiple computers. It has to be something common but external.

Where is the sound coming from? Laptop speakers? Desktop system speaker? Surround sound system? Monitor speakers? Where?

It could also be a program that he has put on both of his PCs, or malware gotten from randomly browsing the internet.

True enough I suppose. Seems unlikely it would react exactly the same on different machines with different hardware though. But entirely possible.
