The VGA port on my monitor isn't working anymore, my monitor also has an HDMI port which works, can I use a VGA to HDMI converter to connect my monitor to my PC?

Solution

Yes, using a VGA to HDMI converter is possible.

If you have a DVI port on your PC then the much cheaper option is to use a DVI to HDMI cable.
Depending on what country you are in it might even be cheaper to get a low end graphics card then to get a VGA-HDMI converter.

Its possible to do what he is asking: VGA PORT ON PC -> VGA TO HDMI CONVERTER -> HDMI PORT ON MONITOR

In a confrence room here we have several machines hooked up via hdmi matrix that goes to a projector, we then as a seperate input also have a vga->hdmi converter for laptops with no HDMI/DVI

what is this !!!! why post on my post!!!!
