hi guys

i want to buy myself an ethernet switch, my question is,
i have a 100 ft Cat6 cable that comes from my modem into my apartment can i plug that cable into the switch and connect the switch 2 my vpn router so that my router is on a vpn and my other 2 pc's and my xbox stay on my normal connection??

basicly what i want is my pc's and my xbox on my normal connection, and my router has to be on the vpn so everything i plug into the router is on my vpn connection.

sorry for my broken english
i hope you guys can give me a solution

thnx

If the device you are calling a modem is actually a router it will work fine. The issue is the ISP will only give you a single IP unless you pay them for more...if they even offer multiple IP. When you plug directly into a modem each device must has a external IP. So you would need 4. I suspect it will not take long to pay for a another router rather than pay for 4 addresses every month. Again if the device you call a "modem" has router function you will have no issues.
