Oh, and would it be better to upgrade to an a10-6800k + 750ti instead of buying just the GTX 760

depending on the price, it would be better to use an x4-760k rather than a 6800k. at that point would say a gtx660 or r9-270 would be better match your cpu.

you might find that you can get a 5800k for only a few bucks form than the 760k, and that might be the better option since the 5800k has an igpu and can be used alone without a gpu while the 760k requires a discrete gpu for monitor output.

If the Athlon 760K is on your mb's cpu support list then that is the cpu to upgrade to if you want to add a graphics card .

A GTX 760 would be bottlenecked a little in demanding games at 1080p resolution . A Radeon R9 270X may be your best choice

Well my native resolution is 1440x900. So I guess it wouldn't botrtlenecked a lot?

Lower resolutions mean you would be wasting money buying a card as powerful as the GTX 760 . Even the R9 270X is overkill for that resolution

So upgrading the cpu to an a10-6800k would be better?
