So as of the past month or so I've been attempting to put together parts for a PC build, but recently I've had the opportunity to buy one, but have been seriously wondering if it would be worth it.

Here are the specs.

I7-920 2.66 ghz cpu
12GB of Corsair Dominator RAM, clocked at DDR3 1600
Asus P6T Deluxe V2 motherboard
Samsung 1TB hard drive used as storage
OCVZ vertex 3 120GB SSD
Coolermaster V8 Cooler
Lightscribe DVD-RW drive
Corsair HX750 modular power supply
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1850 Cable Card

It doesn't have a video card, but I have a Radeon HD 7470 that would work well enough to do basic stuff until I bought another one.

My main worry is the CPU and Mobo, as from what I've seen they aren't just absolutely fantastic. I also might be able to buy it for $300 without the Mobo and CPU, which I would then replace with an AMD FX-6300 and an Asus M5a97. What do y'all think?

Thanks,
Mason

Well this isn't new, I know that it seems pretty cheap, and it honestly it is, but I'm buying it used from someone. I guess what I'm specifically asking is if the parts, namely the CPU and Motherboard, are good for the amount of money I would spend on them. I'm not talking price, but value rather.

That's what I've been thinking, but just wasn't quite sure, as the P6t and the i7 have been a bit difficult to find solid info for. For video card I'm looking at a Radeon R7 265.

Thanks for the tips. I knew it was an old CPU, just wasn't sure if it would still be viable hardware or not. I know that the FX chips are not top of the line, but they are considerably more affordable. Again, thank you very much for your help and input!
