Hi everyone, getting ready to build my first gaming PC. I know nothing. But i'm learning!

I have been doing some research for about a month and am planning on purchasing all my components in the next few weeks (unless there is some reason I should wait, i'm not in a rush). I initially wanted to spend around 8-900$ but the parts I have put together will push me closer to 1000$ and I am not willing to go over.

I will be mostly using this for gaming/multimedia tasks but i do use photoshop as well.

I plan on using my 40' Samsung 1080P TV as a monitor for now http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs/LN40C500F3FXZA-specs

I do need an OS. Windows7 or 8 haven't decided yet. (If there is anyway for me to run OSX as well I would be esthetic!!!)

I want to run Intel and prefer Nvidia graphics but i'm willing to look at the AMD as well. Would like to overclock in the future (not a requirement, just think it would be fun/interesting). Don't plan on using SLI but i do like having the option to in the future.

I also want my computer to be quiet as possible. I also plan on adding small upgrades as time goes on SSD, fans, cpu cooler, memory, possibly LED's.

So far I've put together this list. I've included some of the reasons I chose what I did

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.99 @ NCIX US)
Because It has a K and is in my price range.

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.98 @ OutletPC)
Great reviews.

Motherboard: Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($119.97 @ Amazon)
LOVE the black and gold.

Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($79.99 @ Micro Center)
No preference (anyone make black/gold memory?

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($88.97 @ OutletPC)
Always bought WD drives...

Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB Superclocked ACX Video Card ($239.99 @ Newegg)
In my price range and I have heard EVGA is a good brand (not to mention it kind of matches the motherboard) although i would love the 770 since it comes with a copy of the new borderlands and the EVGA is black/gold

Case: Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case ($89.99 @ NCIX US)
I want this case. Best looking case i can find don't care if there are cheaper ones.

Power Supply: Rosewill Capstone 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($69.99 @ Newegg)
80+ Gold. Semi-Modular.

Total: $938.87

I still need to add an OS but I figured I could wait on the CPU cooler until later and that would put me right under 1000$ with the OS for this build.

I am willing to change just about everything but the case and I really want intel. I don't care too much about looks inside the case (I just happen to love the black and gold idea... ) i would prefer no blue but the non windowed case is always an option

This is with a 770 but if it's too expensive you can try using the sapphire 280x. You said you needed an OS so this is over budget. Its up to you whether the 770 is worth it.

Also I used black and gold ram. It's more expensive but it will look good. So again its up to you

Think I may of made my first post a little long... just want to know what that system is capable of. I would like to be able to play Star Citizen on ultra settings if that is possible in my price range.

I am really trying to squeeze the 770 in there now because I was looking at benchmarks for the 760 and the 770 and i feel the 770 is a big jump up.

Also I have no idea if that is a good PSU or even if 650 is enough watts for my system (keep in mind I plan on adding a SSD, Fans, and maybe a H100I later)

Edit: I don't know why I used the 4670k. If you use this build buy the 4690k
