Hey, I have a Biostar TZ77XE3 1155 motherboard with an Intel i7 2700K CPU and a CM Storm Trooper case. I currently have the CM Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler, and I am looking to upgrade. I was suggested the Noctua NH-D15 as it is the best air cooler and I can't be bothered with water cooling. However I just want to make sure that the NH-D15 will fit on my motherboard/case. I was told it would, but I would like a second opinion if possible.

Here is a picture of my current heatsink and as you can see there isn't too much space beside the RAM. I was told the fan on the NHD15 could be moved to fit in place, but I just want to be 100% certain before I purchase it.

Thanks!

Did you check the Noctua compatibility list ?

It's very good air cooler tho I dunno if it's the best, I think the Cryorig R1 holds that title.

Custom Water cooling is a great solution and it's fun ... but yes, it's work. CLC's I find pretty worthless, 98% can't compete with the better air coolers and the ones that do are too noisy to be in the same room with.

But if so inclined, take a look at the Swiftech H220-X ..... easy to install, and none of the disadvantages of CLCs.

It's copper not aluminum
It can be expanded to include other water blocks, radiators, etc.
It's quiet ...., 1/4 as loud...

It beats everything out there short of a custom water loop.
