I recently built a custom pc for the first time to replace my old computer. This computer was supposed to be for both gaming and normal use (specs at bottom). I built it in a non-static environment and did I test boot outside of the case. The computer functioned perfectly and I took it apart and built it in the case. Next I put turned it on and installed windows 8.1, then drivers and when that finished I installed Minecraft, Steam, CS GO and other programs. Everything worked at first except for steam games. I would load the game menu and join a server only to have it crash after 15 - 120 seconds. I downloaded a driver updater and had to scan for missing drivers and it didn't detect any. After a day or two the computer would crash randomly in Minecraft too. After a few days of trying different tests like MemTest I decided it was time to get some help.

My Computer:
Motherboard: Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0
CPU: AMD FX 8-core 3.5ghz
RAM: 8GB (2x4gb) G.Skill Ripjaws
Storage: 1TB Seagate Barracuda
GPU: Asus GTX 750 Ti
PSU: Rosewell 750 80-Plus Bronze

make sure the mb bios is up to date to rule out a bios bug. in the bios make sure ram is set right use cpu-z to see that the mb set up the ram speed and timing right. the last issue is try another power supply to rule out bad power. the power supply that in your rig is a not a good unit.

I checked all but the bad power and then downloaded a program called who crashed. It's results were: On Fri 2014-09-05 7:45:28 PM GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\memory.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: hal.dll (hal!HalGetProcessorIdByNtNumber+0x8E8)
Bugcheck code: 0xA0 (0xB, 0x19492F000, 0x3, 0x17623000)
Error: INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR
file path: C:\Windows\system32\hal.dll
product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
company: Microsoft Corporation
description: Hardware Abstraction Layer DLL
Bug check description: This bug check indicates that the power policy manager experienced a fatal error.
This problem might be caused by a thermal issue.
The crash took place in a standard Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver on your system that cannot be identified at this time.

I assume that this means it is the PSU. Thankfully I ordered from Newegg and I will check into getting a refund.
