Hello guys!

I'm asking for your advice because I want to upgrade my PC. (almost a new build)
I want to be able to play in max graphic settings on several games and be able to do multitasking on 2 monitors. e.g. Dead Rising 3, GTA V, Far Cry 4, Battlefield 4...

Approximate Purchase Date: November or December

Budget Range: Approximately 1200$ (case not inclueded) I already have my CPU Intel Core i7 2600 @ 3,40 GHz, I also have 2 monitors and a HDD.

I'll buy a CM Storm trooper because I want enough room for future upgrades and I think this one is pretty cool. If you know better ones just let me know.

Memory: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-memory-cmy16gx3... 190$

PSU: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1750b... 100$
Optical drive: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-optical-drive-drw2... 20$
OS: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/microsoft-os-wn700615 105$

Location: I'm from Canada (Québec)

Parts Preferences:
It does not bother me as long as the parts are good. If you guys think I need to buy parts in differents brands your advice are all welcome!
I don't have any clue if the CPU Coller is good.

Overclocking and SLI: Maybe in a future upgrade

Additional Comments: I need to use powerful software like AutoCAD and I want to be able to do somithing else on my second monitor like watching FULL HD video at the same time. That's why I think 16 GB of RAM is good for me.

I'm only buying a SSD because I already have a HDD.

I know that the DDR4, new processor and new motherboards are out now. I wonder if I should wait for future discounts or if it wont affect prices at all.

I know that I chose a too much powerwul PSU but I will do upgrade in the future so I think it's better to have a powerfull one know.

Question: Should I upgrade my CPU or it will do the job for now? (Intel Core i7 2600 @ 3,40 GHz)

I think it's fine but let me know if you don't understand something I wrote because english is not my first language.

Thank you very much for your time and all your advice are welcome!

Good build, is an optical drive extremely necessary? Consider upgrading your cpu later but it will do fine with turbo boost.

If an optical drive is not imperative to your work you could invest that into a better GPU or CPU cooler (not that those listed are bad.
Also look into transferring OS from an old PC to a new one if you're not going to use the old PC, I did that recently from laptop to desktop and it worked a charm.

Happy building!! :D

If you use the 2600, you will need to get a lga 1155 motherboard. The z97 you selected will not be compatible.

Thank you for your answers.

@ Tooommo I'll need a new OS because the one I have is a OEM.

@ Sooth Ok, do I chose a new motherboard or upgrade my CPU and stick with the Z97?

By the way, if I change my CPU, can you guys suggest me good ones?

a 2600 is still a top tier processor, changing it would not result in much improvement. I would only change if you were planning on getting a k series (4690k or 4790k and overclocking.) Even then you would be spending $200 - $350 more for an upgrade that will be minor.

In short, no I would not spend the money to upgrade your processor for gaming.

Staying within the same budget as the above build, this is what I would suggest for a larger performance upgrade. You did say a 2600 not a 2600k correct? You can always upgrade to 16 gb ram later if you determine that you need it.

You're right, my CPU is a 2600.
Your new build seems great, I never thought I could get a 780 TI for this price.

I know that it would cost more than what I planned but with that GPU upgrade would it be better to go with water cooling? I think I would have enough space in my case. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-case-sgc5...

I would not bother with water cooling since you cannot overclock a 2600 very much (multiplier is locked). The 212 evo will be plenty for you.

Ok, I think I have everything I wished in this build.

Thank you very much for your time!
